Rodney Roby
Author
Hello. My name is Rodney and I wrote a book titled Paralyzed Emotions.
I wrote a personal memoir confronting life with my mental illnesses. It is a series of letters written to my doctor back in the 1980's when I was first diagnosed. When I gave them to her, I never expected to see her again (she was moving to another state to practice). To my utter surprise she called me from a payphone in the Denver airport to tell me that I needed to publish them!
Well now, I didn't think they were anything special. And they were so very personal, I didn't feel ready to share. So, I prayed about it, and I felt that God wanted me to wait for 25 years. 30 years later a pandemic hit. While isolated God prompted me to finish the letters and publish it. So, I got them back out, dusted them off, and got to work! My prayer for this book is that it helps lift the veil of mystery surrounding mental health crises. Whether you are struggling with mental illness and feeling alone or you love someone who does and just don't understand how they feel this book will help.

I was born in Cape Town and lived the first thirty years of my life there before moving to the United Kingdom in 1995. There I practised law as an in-house lawyer in the life sciences industry before retiring in 2020 to take up my passion for writing.
Since then, I have published two books related to the work I did during my legal career and a novella, The Box, which is my first foray into fiction writing. They are published on Amazon.
I currently live in London with my husband, Manfred, who I met in Cape Town thirty years ago.
E.M. Wallis (Michael Wallis)
Author
E.M. Wallis is the creative pseudonym of Michael Wallis, a versatile journalist and dedicated local government communications officer, who lives in the idyllic Southwest of England.
In his debut work, "Awaken the Warrior Inside," Michael crafts a soul-stirring anthology inspired by his daughter's battle with leukaemia at Bristol Children's Hospital. Navigating the tumultuous waters, their hospital room became a crucible for his poetic expression, delving into profound shadows of trauma— anxiety, fear, depression, and disbelief.
As a father of four, Michael understands the dynamics of strength and unity in the face of adversity. Through rhythmic prose, he captures the triumphs and struggles in the healing ward, offering solace and strength discovered through refection.
Michael extends his exploration into fiction with "The Haunting Flames." His soon to be released debut novel promises an exhilarating supernatural experience as protagonist Mark Wise renovates a fire-ravaged hotel, uncovering eerie history and facing malevolent entities. Seances highlight surprising revelations, and a final confrontation with the vengeful spirit seeking justice, the novel culminates in a triumph over darkness.
Join E.M. Wallis on this thrilling journey where the echoes of the supernatural intertwine with the enduring spirit of human resilience.

Originally a Yorkshireman – born and partially ill-bred in Halifax - but now a Londoner, I was supposed to be an historian like my father, E.P. Thompson. At least, that’s what I studied in Oxford back in the days of flares, prog rock and visions of a better world. Maybe I would have been had I spent less time touring with bands and more time submerged in my studies. But music won and the 1970’s were spent as a session musician and running an international tour production company. Fate intervened once more in 1980 and a period spent managing Roy Harper and launching his record label (funded by Paul McCartney, Kate Bush, Dave Gilmour and Robert Plant) were followed by a decade at the sharp end of what was then a record industry, managing successful bands and record producers and doing A+R consultancy for the likes of A+M, CBS, MCA, JVC Victor (Japan), JIVE and others.
Like many music professionals, part of my accreditation was a classic industry rip-off, leading to a nasty legal quagmire feathering the nests of slick lawyers and an accompanying disillusionment with the record industry, but not with music. Refocused if not yet entirely re-energised, I returned to recording my own music in the early 1990’s, and as so often in my past, an accidental adjunct to the main event turned into the main event itself.
A musical Gorgon with five heads, my studio supply and consultancy company, Funky Junk Limited, operated from London, Paris, Milan, Rome and Vigo, Spain, meaning (if nothing else) that I enjoyed the occasional good meal and frequent good company. One thing is for sure, though . . . a life of accidental twists and turns holds other unexpected adventures in store. At least, I sincerely hope so.
Having recently sold Funky, I now spend my time writing Eccentric fiction - my passion for the past two decades.

I am the Author of JUSTIFICATION OF AN INSURRECTIONIST. This highly, intense, fictional read portrays a corrupt justice system, racism and prejudices of many walks of life. From the color of ones skin, race, religion, ethnicity and our LGBTQ+ community. This heartfelt emotional read exposes the ignorance of those who feel they are superior and privileged, above the law due to the protection of their complexion. It also portrays positive resilience to change such hateful, ignorance. To end dividedness, unite together and prevail.
