I intended to share what I learned from my experience to have a candid conversation on grief, which is a part of our human experience.

During the 2020 Covid lockdown in Beijing, Sonny completed the Start Writing Fiction course from Future Learn. Two exercises from week two were to describe a writing space, and to imagine a character.

These two exercises became the first chapter of this book, as Sonny continued writing. The simple exercise in a writing course became a series of five character-driven stories focused around the life of the main character, Judy Vernon.

Experiential travel, living in different countries, and working in remote and unusual locations, through seven different careers, has introduced Sonny to a range of unusual characters, broken people, and misfits who fuel the characters he brings to life in his writing.

NACÍ EN EL HOSPITAL BASE DE VALDIVIA, CHILE, EN 1983, donde mamá y papá, Marta Gutiérrez y Ramón González, me bautizaron como Ramón Mauricio González Gutiérrez. Soy el mayor de tres hermanos. Mi adolescencia la viví en Maipú, comuna de Santiago, donde comencé a escribir; aunque, cabrá aclarar, el seudónimo «barojiano» se lo deberé a posteriori a la ciudad de Lebu (tema para otra historia). Tras algunos años, egresé de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile con los grados de Licenciado y Magíster en Letras, lo que, eventualmente, me ayudará a cofundar Audacia Editorial®, en México, y la Revista Literaria Sudras y Parias®, en Lebu, Chile; esta última junto a los amigos escritores Jaime Magnan y Alfredo O. Torres.

A la fecha, sumo varios libros publicados en Chile, México, España y Argentina, además de presencia en varias antologías, tanto en inglés como en español, así como en diversas revistas especializadas en Letras y Filosofía.
