Raised in San Diego, California, Tenkara Smart received a B.A. in English Literature/Minor in Creative Writing from SDSU. After 20 years working for one of America’s most prominent running retailers, Tenkara retired from her role as vice president and moved with her husband to Qatar and then to the land down under. Tenkara has travelled 40% of the globe and is an avid foodie who particularly loves Japanese food and sake. When she’s not writing, Tenkara loves being with her husband, watching MotoGP, paddling a kayak, playing tennis, or even attempting a good round of golf.

Dr. M. Stanley Butler is an author, teacher, and leadership developer. His message and passion have taken him to Africa, Asia, Europe, and many cities throughout the United States, serving as a teacher, conference speaker, and workshop facilitator for national and international churches and faith-based organizations. He is also the founder of STEPS, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving community and faith-based nonprofits, and STEPS Institute for Management & Learning. With more than 15 years of consulting experience, he has worked extensively to aid faith-based non-profit organizations in areas specific to curricula and strategic planning, administrative compliance, fiscal management, and capacity-building. Dr. Butler resides in Washington, D.C.
