About the book Magic Mirabelle and the Riddle of NightOpium.
If you like Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and the Narnia and Harry Potter books, you are going to just love Magic Mirabelle and the Riddle of Night Opium. It all begins in East Finchley, London with Mirabelle making an innocent wish, with her mother and baby brother, and then discovering a Magic Box with a very mysterious riddle in it.
After Mirabelle receives the riddle, and tries to solve it, she is plunged into a strange and terrifying world of alchemy, sorcery and Shape Shifting enchantment. Here she finds herself not only part of a story but also part of the most dreadful game, played secretly by Witches for countless generations, called the Dungeons of Lethe.
In this game, the Wizard Night Opium, the mischievous Fairy Apricot Lantern, the Wise and kindly Father of Wishes and the cruel and manipulative Nightshade Faery are all playing either as Mirabelle's allies or enemies. Mirabelle soon learns that not only her own fate, but also that of everything she loves in the world around her hinges on the outcome of this game. The unexpected climax to both the game and the story, which takes place in London's historic centre of Westminster, will not only take your breath away, but will and leave you wondering as to whether or not there might be a secret other-world of magic and sorcery running parallel to the safe and familiar World around us - Here the fate of all things hangs on the outcome of a young Witch solving the Riddle of Night Opium.
