David Yau Fai Ho received his Ph.D. degree in psychology and logic from the Illinois Institute of Technology in the United States. He introduced clinical psychology into Hong Kong and served as Director of the Clinical Psychology Programme at the University of Hong Kong from 1971 to 1996. He has had extensive multicultural experiences and has held professorial appointments in Hong Kong, mainland China, Hawaii, and North America. Professor Ho has authored more than a hundred scholarly contributions in psychology, psychiatry, sociology, and education. In recent years, his interest has turned to the interface of psychology and spirituality. He was the first Asian to serve as President of the International Council of Psychologists (1988 - 1989).
